In mid-December, as part of its 2024 community responsibility program themed “Partnering with the community to realize aspirations”, FE CREDIT collaborated “Lighting Hope – Overcoming Hardships to Learn” by Sài Gòn Giải Phóng Newspaper to award 100 scholarships totalling VND 100 million to students at Bình Lãng Primary and Secondary School in Thanh Long Commune, Hà Quảng District, Cao Bằng Province. These scholarships have served to encourage studying efforts and inspire the dreams of the students.
Bình Lãng Primary and Secondary School is located in Thanh Long Commune, one of the most underprivileged areas in Hà Quảng District, situated 76 kilometres from the center. With rugged terrain and poor transportation conditions, getting to school is a daily challenge for students here. Many students have to walk up to 10 kilometres each day to attend class.
The Journey of “Partnering with the community to realize aspirations” brings compassion to the highlands
Thanh Long Commune is not only geographically remote but also heavily impacted by natural disasters. In early September, Typhoon Yagi (Storm No. 3) brought prolonged heavy rains, leading to severe flooding in the area. The disaster disrupted daily life, destroyed vast areas of farmland, and further strained the already limited incomes of local families. The school had to close for more than two weeks, waiting for floodwaters to recede before classes could resume.
Mr. Đường Văn Long, Principal of Bình Lãng Primary and Secondary School, shared that the school currently has 243 students, with over 70% coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. Most of the students are from ethnic minority groups such as Dao, Tày, and Nùng, and their lives are marked by considerable hardship. Despite these challenges, their unwavering determination and passion for learning shine brightly in the hearts of every student.

The “Lighting Hope – Overcoming Hardships to Learn” program brought warmth to Bình Lãng Primary and Secondary School during the cold days at the end of the year. Despite the winter chill, smiles lit up the faces of the students, especially that of fifth-grader Bài Tòn Ton from the Kỷ Chảo campus. Ton’s home is separated from his school by an entire mountain, yet he walks to class every day, fueled by his love of learning and the joy of seeing his friends. Braving Cao Bằng’s biting 13°C cold, he shared his simple yet heartfelt dreams: “I dream of becoming a doctor, having a warm coat, and enjoying a delicious meal”. These innocent words reflect the unyielding spirit and determination of the children in this community. Being more than just financial support, the scholarships awarded today are a symbol of encouragement and a gesture of love that bridges the community and these young dreamers.
FE CREDIT joins hands to spread hope and belief
Understanding the challenges faced by students in remote areas, the “Lighting Hope – Overcoming Hardships to Learn” program, organized by Sài Gòn Giải Phóng newspaper with the support of FE CREDIT, has promptly provided 100 scholarships totalling VND 100 million to encourage students to persist in their educational journey.
At the scholarship ceremony, Mr. Vũ Long, a representative of FE CREDIT, shared: “FE CREDIT is committed to sustainable development, integrating social responsibility into our business operations. The scholarship program in Cao Bằng is one of many activities under FE CREDIT’s “Partnering with the community to realize aspirations” initiative for 2024. Prior to this, the company had carried out several meaningful charitable programs, such as partnering with the “Pair of loving leaves” to award 3 scholarships worth VND 150 million to disadvantaged children in Ho Chi Minh City, and the “Dân Trí Scholarship Program for 2024-2025 School Year”, providing 100 scholarships to hardworking students in Bạc Liêu Province. In the future, FE CREDIT will continue to implement additional community responsibility activities across provinces nationwide. These initiatives not only provide material support but also create opportunities for the people, especially children, to achieve sustainable development, working towards a brighter future.
